Map History
* Eul invented DotA, and He got his inspiration from AoS (Aoen of Strife), which originated from Starcraft. After a failed attempt at porting the map from Reign of Chaos to the Frozen Throne's editor, Eul eventually moved on to other things. He released an unprotected copy of his final map.
* Several people began transferring the map to the Frozen Throne editor, Guinsoo among them. He changed it from Defense of the Ancients to DotA Allstars. He did, however, implement Eul's Scepter of Divinity in "memory" of the creator, as well as Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse and other items. Guinsoo's map eventually became the most popular variant. He also added Syllabear in memory of fellow developer Syl-la-ble. In mid 2004, Pendragon_ began managing the site DotA-Allstars.com.
* In February 2005, DotA 6.0x was released, featuring a couple of added heroes and a fourth item recipes shop.
* Later on, Guinsoo left to play WoW, and Syl-la-ble and Neichus took over for a little bit then handed it over to Clan TDA which was then a team effort to create the map.
* IceFrog took over shortly thereafter, and is now the lead developer of DotA. He has a team of developers that work with him to create the brilliant changes to each new version. And here we are now...
